Cox goes West
Brom deal nets Town initial £900K
West Brom have signed Swindon striker Simon Cox for £1.9 million.
The deal means Town will receive £900K upfront, with £600K going to Cox's former club Reading as part of a sell-on clause. The remaining £400,000 is payable depending on future performance.
Swindon chairman described the transfer as a 'proper deal and the right one'.
Cox signed for Swindon from Reading for £200,000 in January 2008 and was joint League One top scorer last season with 29 goals.
"Of course, I would have liked to have kept him," commented Robins' manager Danny Wilson, "strikers of his calibre are hard to find and West Brom have signed a proven goalscorer."
"I wish him all the best."
